Here's just an update on my purse snatcher. The SLC police called me last night at 10:30 telling me he had just arrested two different girls who had my ID & cards on them. I guess one of the girls said we were friends and that she was just holding my ID for me (isn't that crazy?!!! ahhh) so the officer just wanted to call & check. I'm glad the cops were on top of it all. The police officer also said their car was full of bags & purses.. what in the world? So hopefully I can go into tomorrow and claim some of my stuff. Maybe I can get back to my book=)

Last night Izzy's elementary school rented out the local skating rink. At the last minute we decided to go. I forgot how much fun it was to fly around the floor on roller skates. Those were some of the funnest times, back when all my girlfriends and I would go disco skating.
We had a great time, until we heard our license plate number over the loud speaker. Telling us that someone had just broken into our car. We headed outside to see that our window had been shattered and my purse was missing. No big loss though.. as long as all my kids are safe and I can pretty much replace everything they took. The scary thing is that we watched the video surveillance and you can totally see the guy breaking into our car, creepy. I hope he's enjoying my pride and prejudice book.. the jerk.

craziness

Ryan and I found this cool park while we were in San Diego. It looked like something out of a dream or maybe a nightmare. It was huge, and had all these crazy totem poles with snakes and birds. The girls loved it. We ate lunch and chased each other around these bizarre sculptures. It was a fun place to take pictures too..

playing in the snow

Around this time of year I start getting so anxious for spring. which is so bad for me to do, because let's face it, in Utah that won't happen for another 2-3 months. Jan & Feb are just hard, long months for me. Anyone have some fun suggestions for getting through these last winter months. Maybe I'll go sign up at a gym..... Good thing the girls love the snow.. Here they are playing in the
back yard. They would play outside all day if I let them.

Here is a cool tunnel, Sophia is behind Izzy, crazy girls =)

already a great 2009

We're all so excited for Ryan... early in January he found out he got a big promotion.. and is now assistant to the director in his SLC office. We're so proud of you Ryan.
Here we are checking out his new office.
Also, this week Darice (Ryan's sister) and Darryl came and stayed with us. They're currently living in Baltimore. Darryl is interviewing right now for MD residency here & hoping to move out this way in a few months. We'll keep our fingers crossed. We also got to meet our newest niece - Harper!!! She is the sweetest baby I've ever seen. I took a few photos of her.
(I got a new flash for Christmas, so I'm still trying to figure it out)

I want to keep her for my own. Not fair that they have to live so far away, hopefully that will change. Thanks D & D it was so fun having you here!!!

catching up

Let's see... I'm not sure where to start it's been awhile. Sorry I'm such a slacker. I relaxed so much over the holidays it's been hard getting back into real life. Here are a few pictures from our long break. I have to apologize because they aren't the best photos.
But at least I'm posting right...

The girls were really worried that they didn't get to see Santa early in December. Luckily he showed up to our church Christmas party so they could put their orders in. Here is Sophie telling Santa that she wanted all the High School Musical barbies. She is crazy about those shows (even more then Izzy-should I be worried?)

Here is Izzy requesting a metal detector... I was like "What!" That was news to me.. hmm where in the world was I going to find a metal detector? Does Santa even make those? Luckily she changed her mind last minute and wanted a few small things.. (piggy bank, jewelry box, chapter books, computer games )

We also spent a lot of time with family! Yeah for cousins!!! The kids had so much fun.
I loved seeing my sisters and their families.

Kari, Lindsay, Steph, Heidi & me

I also got to spend some time with my girl friends from high school. We went to dinner a couple of times and talked our heads off.. and laughed a bunch too!!!
me, Holli, Celeste Heidi & Monica.. we missed you Tiff!!!

Jen & Monnie
I love these girls to death. Even though we get older every year,
when ever we're together I feel like I'm 18 again.

Here is our Christmas morning..

The girls woke up at 6:30 and could hardly contain themselves.. I've never heard so much screaming. Poor Quinn (Ryan's brother) he spent Christmas with us.. I think his ears are still bleeding =) Thanks for staying Quinn.. you made our Christmas!

New Years was wonderful too.. We partied at Steph and Mike's place.. We went out to dinner and danced to some crazy music to bring in the new year. Steph you amaze me with all your energy. I want to be just like you!

So, I do this every year, tell myself I am not going to get stressed out with shopping and giving neighbor gifts and teacher gifts... and the perfect gift for everyone. But then I do it.. year after year. Thank goodness for the crazy weather it has been a constant blizzard at our house for the last 3 days. If you know me, you know there is nothing I hate more then driving in the snow. so, it's been nice to relax with my kids and take time to really think about Christmas and what it means to us. I love all the Christmas music that remind us of Jesuss birth.. his life & what he truly gave to us. And I also love how Christmas bring people together. There is such a wonderful feeling of love for everyone. I wish we could keep that feeling all year long.

We hope you all have a wonderful Christmas full of love, hope & lots of JOY
