girlie time

This pasted week the girl went to the BEST birthday party! Their cousin Elyse had it at a fun place called Primrose Retreat Spa. They loved every second from the dress ups to the run way to the fancy tea party.
Thanks Amanda and Elyse!!!
My girls are still talking about it, wondering when we are going back. I'm still laughing about Sophie's dress, it had fake fur on the front of it...ha ha ha -very glamorous!

Yeah, summer is here and the girls are keeping busy with all the fun activities it brings. Our church ward had a fun bike parade and the girls loved decorating their bikes and riding around the neighborhood. Poor Sophia didn't make it to far, she crashed her bike in the church parking lot before we even left. Try pushing a stroller while holding a crying 4 year old and dragging a bike behind you all at the same time.... fun times.... =)

SNOWBIRD

This time every year my family heads up to Little Cottonwood Canyon to spend time at Snowbird Ski Resort. My Grandma bought a time share years and years ago, before I was born. I LOVE being there right up against the mountains. It's definitely one my favorite places. This year was a little different because everything was still covered in snow. People were still skiing in JUNE! So hiking, biking, tennis was out of the picture. Basically we swam all day and played games and missed Heidi & Todd and Kari & Cody (because they couldn't come -You better be there next year!)
Thanks Grandma for the fun week!

loved this book...

I just finished this fun, short book by Shannon Hale. She's the author of the Goose Girl (that I really liked.) This book is about a girl who is obsessed with Jane Austen and Mr Darcy (who's not)... She finds a vacation estate in England that is designed just like Austen's novels set in the 1800's. The dress, the food, everything.. is all set up the same to take you back in time.
I love the way Shannon Hale writes, very funny... like talking to a good friend. Katie, Darice and Lindsay, I think you guys would like this.. and anyone else who loves Jane Austen. Thanks Brooke for always suggesting a good book!

FLASH BACK FRIDAY

I thought it might be kind of fun to post some older photos once in a while.. This was from one our trips to Lake Powell. Sophie was just barely 1 and Izzy was 4. Fun times! I love Ryan's family!

I actually did it, I signed myself up for a 1/2 marathon.. ahh. I'm not sure what I was thinking, but if I ever want to do a marathon, I should see if I can run a half, right? I'm a little nervous. Ryan and a few of my sisters signed up and my cousin Amanda. So even if I'm crawling at the end it should be lots of fun. Any advice from you long time runners out there?
